It is unknown if they took part in those things, but they shared virtually everything else, so it’s not unlikely. ![]() Ruth (the daughter) was a dancer, the kind of dancer we would say is exotic, or a stripper in the language of today’s world, and like in 2023, drugs and alcohol were abundant in the 1920s. They claimed to hear voices since childhood but were never demanded to do anything before the hallucination. I want to preface this with my usual disclaimer, but also that seemingly the founders of the cult, a mother/daughter team had a shared hallucination. It was also a time of mysticism and as you’re about to see crazy cults. I also really enjoy the Roaring ’20s, it was a time of freedom and expression, a time when the world had begun to change, if only for a while. Having said that, there are some stories that even I say what the fuck to myself. I do a lot of research before I slap a story together, and even more once it’s live to update whenever I find a new interesting piece of evidence. ![]()
